My Life in Spain - Curiosities of Seville #1
Around the 10th of June every year, you know that it is probably not going to rain for some 3-4 months. It is such a funny feeling. It hardly ever rains here in summer. Almost like in Sweden, where it rains practically every day in summer...
So for like 90-120 days: not a cloud, sunshine every day. And extremely hot.
Why 10th of June then? There is a Spanish saying: "Hasta el 40 de Mayo, no te quites el sayo". Like, "Until the 40th of May, don´t take the jacket off". And I can confirm it is true: even though it can be extremely hot already in March, there will always be a cold spell before the 10th of June, that is, the 40th of May...
Indeed very Sevillian...
